How to teach her it's wrong?

My daughter is 5 and I breastfed her until she was 1. She's watched me breastfeed her two younger siblings too. But my 5 yo keeps reaching for my boobs all the time just to touch them and when I'm feeding baby she tries to move baby away so she can feed. She doesn't actually want milk from me she just wants to do it but it makes me feel VERY uncomfortable because she's way past breastfeeding now and she's so big. I feel like at her age she should sort of understand. She even lifts my top up in front of people and even strangers and it's really embarrassing. I've been trying to explain to her that this is wrong but she doesn't listen. How can I get her to understand as this is really stressing me out :'(

I can understand you not liking her pulling your top up. What do you when she does this?

It seems like she may be trying to replicate the comfort she felt, have you tried offering a cuddle instead? If you’re feeding baby could you snug her up on the other side and read a book with her?

Thank you JiltedJohnsJulie, you're right, I think she is trying to get the same comfort that she sees her brother getting. I feel bad when I think about it. I do cuddle up to her to make up for it whenever possible but my middle daughter can get very jealous and I think my eldest is upset by that so we try and all have a cuddle together at once haha. Sometimes in the evening my eldest and I get some of 'our' time together when the babies are asleep which I know she loves. I'm thinking she'll just grow out of this whole want-to-be breastfeeding in time and it will calm down :)

Do you think she might just be really curious about it?
My now 3.9yo still talks about me breastfeeding her sister and I stopped about a year ago now. She also still occassionally tries to get my boobs out to have a look at them and asks if I still have milk. Sometimes she squeezes them (think 'Honk! Honk!' type squeeze) and tells me that 'this is where the milk comes from'. She has tried to latch a few times, which I agree feels very uncomfortable.
A few frank conversations of how it works/what it's for has helped. Trying to explain inappropriateness has got me nowhere, but a basic "No please don't do that, I don't like it" has been much more successful.

My 3.5yr old was breastfed only for 3 months so obviously does not remember this but our dog had puppies before Xmas and he was very interested in the feeding of the puppies so I told him that mummy used to feed him milk from her boobies too and ever since then he has not only tried to lift my top on occasion and latch on (very awkward, I just told him no only babies do that not big boys) but he is also now pretending that his teddies are babies and he is breastfeeding them!! Difficult not to laugh especially because he's a boy but I think it's just a curious phase. In your dd's case I definitely think it sounds like she wants the comfort and closeness it can bring, skin on skin contact is still great at comforting children even at her age, maybe you could have a cuddle with a bra on so she can lay her head on your chest if she really needs reassurance.
