My DS is 15 months old. We have only just moved him into his own room and until then he's been sleeping in the same room as me and my DILF. He's always had formula and started on solids at around 9 months old and he eats loads but healthily- no sugar, lots of greens, wholewheat pasta etc. He eats anything so we just fill him with healthy stuff.

But he doesn't sleep through the night. He wakes around 3 and the only way to get him back to sleep is with a bottle of milk. And a dummy. And now my DILF has been telling me he's been reading up on things and the milk will rot his teeth if given at night and the dummy will cause an overbite if given past 12 months. I don't even clean his teeth yet because he won't stay in one place! I worry I've already messed up his life!

My DILF works full time but when he isn't at work he'll always offer to take care of things at home and looks after DS while I go out for the day and do whatever I like. But he likes a drink in the evening so I have to do all the mornings and I'm tired.

I guess my question is have I messed up already? What do i do?

Water down the night time milk gradually until you're just offering water. Start brushing his teeth twice per day. I doubt having a dummy in the night will cause an overbite unless you're letting him have it all day long too

Your OH is an alcoholic?

You are googling too much and over-worrying. My DS uses to have 2 or 3 bottles of milk a night! In hindsight that was too much but whenever he cried we'd hand him a bottle as we were desperate to go back to sleep. His teeth have always been perfectly fine according to the dentist and he is 8 now. He also used to love soothers.

Why did he only start on solids at 9 months?

@CheapSausagesAndSpam I thought the same and wondered if I had missed some new abbreviation
