Cranky all of a sudden.

My nearly 3 month old is suddenly very cranky.

For a past week or so she's been extra fussy. All she wants is me... If she can hear or see me she wants me but is OK if I'm out of sight / she's distracted. She screams for hours at night and occasionally wakes up screaming or gurning. She is refusing sleep most the time, and fighting it when she can barely keep her eyes open. She wants to be up on our shoulders looking around all day but even then can just suddenly get fussy - like in 0.5 seconds she goes from wide eyed and interested to screaming.

It almost sounds like she's in pain but I can't see anything hurting her, she's no temp etc. Perhaps a little constipated (goes every 2-3 days but it's soft)

I think she's going through a growth spurt as she's constantly hungry, and her clothes are showing signs of getting too small. Her last spurt made her sleepy and grumpy but she didn't resist sleep so it was easier.

Anyone else got/had similar with their baby?

It sounds like it could be colic. Wind/colic makes babies crazy! My 1st ds had really bad colic and was really hard to calm. I recommend infacol before feeds, even bf, and just to give lots of cuddles and reassurance.

Could also be a teeth flare up, so again lots of cuddles.

Unfortunately with babies it's lots of guess work. Some people would say to not give in to the little one and to try to distance yourself, but they obviously need reassurance and love, especially if it's caused by pain. Try and get someone else to also offer reassurance, incase it is just a phase! Ahhh sorry I cannot help more!!

We have her on colic drops, have done for a while as she suffered majorly from it.

She does like to hold back her wind so that could be a factor.

Could it be a growth spurt? My kids fed like crazy and their sleep went out the window.

Possibly. She's now doing nothing but sleep, and looks longer plus clothes are looking stretched.

Sounds like a wonder week to me - I would google it, knowing about them has saved me!
