Is there something wrong with my 14 month old

Hi,
I have a14 month old D'S, he's always been quite changeable but in recent months has become unmanageable. He used to sleep through but for two months now has been night waking m struggling to go down at bedtime and just screams and screams.

He cries and whines all day also, he has the usual tantrums for a child of his age. It feels never ending he's just so rarely happy and content.
He goes to nursery 1 day a week but on most days I get a phone call asking for him to be picked up as he "seems poorley" and is just crying. We've been to the Drs who say there's nothing wrong with him.

No finally today his grandparents have said that unfortunately they can't help with childcare any more as he is too difficult to manage. FIL makes lots of comments about DS disliking him as he cries around him although it's obvious he cries with everyone. We have just spent Christmas day with D'S screaming, the grandparents upset because D'S has no interest in their presents.

Dh thinks it's just a phase. I know it's a difficult age but I don't know a single other child who gets sent home from nursery or their own grandparents can't manage. We're exhausted and now the last childcare option has gone, I'm feeling desperate.

Is this just a phase or something more?

I'd go back to the doctor and ask them to investigate more to be honest. Maybe keep a diary first and see if you can establish a pattern:
Does he move around and play normally? (My ds personality and sleep changed radically around 12 months and he turned out to have septic arthritis)
Is he worse before or after eating?
Do any particular foods affect him?
When are his happiest times?
Could he be over sensitive to clothes, let him spend half a day running round inside with no clothes on, does he improve?
Does he startle or get upset by certain noises? Is he better in a Quiet or loud environment?

Good luck, that does sound really difficult I hope you can move forward.
My cousin's baby was a terrible screamer, nobody could deal with her at all, she turned out to be coeliac but undiagnosed for many years!

Totally agree with Third. I’d also suggest asking your HV for an assessment and a hearing test.

Apparently I was just like this as a baby and I had CMPA which was undiagnosed for many years too.

what kind of doctor said he is fine and what sort of tests have been done to establish it?

I have a DC with SN and would recommend to follow your gut.

If his development fine otherwise?Any other worries thanks the constant crying?
