8 week old baby taking less and less milk

Hi all. I'm a bit worried about my 8 week old baby. For the past few days he's been taking less and less milk.

He's gone from being a very hungry baby, drink approx 180ml of formula every 2.5 to 3 hours. Today, he's had max 120ml of formula every 3-4 hours. He had 120mls at half 5 and has just had 60mls at half 9.

I think he had a cold yesterday, lots of sneezing and coughing and crying and sleeping much more than usual.

He seems his usual happy self today, lots of wet nappies.

His poos have been a bit different the last few days too, very dark green and today there wasn't as much as usual and it was very dense.

Should I be worried or is he just going through a bit of a funny phase? He's my first baby so I just don't know what's normal

Sorry, I'm a bit sleep deprived - when I say he's been having lots of wet nappies he's been having lots of wet nappies all of the time, not just today

Hey didn't want to read and run. As long as he is getting something in him you should be ok.
My little one is 14 weeks and he has had a couple days where he will only drink half of his bottle. Especially if he has a cold. And he is usually a good eater.
Are his poo's loose? You said one was dense, but still loose? Are you formula feeding? I have also had some strange poos, thicker in consistency and also different shades of brown/green/yellow. As long as they are not solid lumps of poo I think it's all normal.
Call NHS direct or your hv if concerned.
Also work out how much over 24 hours he is having and compare that to the recommended amount. My boy dropped his milk massively (compared to what he was drinking) but when I added it all up he was drinking the minimum amount reccomended so I didn't worry, then a week later went mad for his milk again!

It's so worrying. im a first timer too. It's so hard to know what is normal and what to be concerned about. Mix in the sleep deprivation and you end up with neurotic mums!
