Hey everyone

I'm just looking for a bit of advice.
My DS has just turned 18months and I'm doubting my bedtime routine as some of my friends Toddlers are going bed from 7pm up to 10pm some of them .
My son has always been quite good with bed time routine and he doesn't like sleeping in my bed. In fact he always trys to get up and mess about.
But in his cot he's great. He goes bed between 6-7 depending on how the day goes and his sleep throughout the night before. . He wakes up any time between 7-8.30am the following morning. On occasion he will wake up around 12/1am but normally just has a nappy change and some milk and he's back asleep again.
When he wakes up in the morning he will have his day nap from about 11.30am onwards and normally sleeps for 2 hours. (On a good day) sometimes he will nap from 1pm till 3, depending on the day and what we have planned. But both times don't effect his bedtime as he's always rubbing his eyes past 5.30pm .

I guess I'm just seeing what others think and what they do with little ones.

I don't know if it's wrong or I'm just Lucky ha ha

Snap!

For God's sake don't change something that's working you madwoman! My DD 16 months goes to bed at 6pm, get's up at 7am and sleeps 1-3ish. My almost 3 year old also goes 6pm-7am but has dropped the nap. It's a perfect routine imo!

I could never have a toddler up past 7pm, I need an evening and they need their sleep!

Hahaha I know, I thought it was a perfect sleeping pattern and I'm definitely Lucky considering some of my friends routines.
Like you say we need are evening and they need sleep. Although it's a constant battle deciding early night or stay up to catch up on me time.. me time usually wins haha. Thanks for your reply :)

My 3 year old and my 5 month old baby both go to bed at that time Grin Apart from the baby not always being settled, it's awesome because we get a whole 3 or so hours of evening time to ourselves!

Before the new baby arrived my son would have a 2 hour nap every afternoon and an 8pm bedtime, this was the case at your son's age too, but I'm glad we've now moved it back to 6ish as he had also dropped his nap.

If he goes to bed fairly happily at that time and still sleeps well enough at night, that is a good indicator he needs the early bedtime.

Don't change anytime if it works for you! And yes, you are lucky Grin

My 18-month old DD only has only had a 6-6.30pm bedtime for a few weeks each time she's dropped a nap.. She dropped her morning nap around 14.5 months and we had a glorious few weeks of having the evenings to ourselves.. She now naps for around two hours in the middle of the day but we have to wake her by 2.30, otherwise she's a nightmare going to bed.. As it is, we struggle to get her down for 8!
