This is really amusing me today. I tried it after reading the MN 4 year email which said that a 4 year old could repeat a (I think) 4 syllable word. Tried it on ds and indeed he could. He enjoyed it and has asked me to say more and more difficult words for him to try and it is very very funny IMO

best so far:

disestablishmentarianism

I tried "anti-disestablishmentarianism" but he just said "anti......schtabment.....OH BOTHER "

ROFL!

DS1 could say Lamborghini when he was just two

Will try him later and see how he does with antidisestablishmentarianism.

FrannyandZooey · 10/04/2007 12:33

He is currently walking round saying

"Onomatopoeic onomatopoeic onomatopoeic

You don't know what it means, Daddy"

Has he enlightened his dad, or is he wrong about what his dad knows?

climbingrosie · 10/04/2007 13:25

lol I just tried onomatopoea (sp?) with ds and he got that, now he's changing it to onomatoteaa, onamatokea, onomatohea except he's pronouncing it as on a mat a hear etc.! , so more like individual words than syllables.Funny thread.

He just said no mummy I don't want to when I asked him to say antidisestablishmentarianism!! lol

hoxtonchick · 10/04/2007 13:27

i am very proud of my dd, at 21 months, learning to say trans-port-AH at the weekend (too much time on motorways).

MrsPhilipGlenister · 10/04/2007 13:30

DS3 has now mastered four one-syllable words .

hoxtonchick · 10/04/2007 13:30

MrsPhilipGlenister · 10/04/2007 13:31

FrannyandZooey · 10/04/2007 13:46

LOL I am not sure if his dad does know or not singersgirl

I asked "can you say "supercalifrajilisticexpialidocious"
he looked like this

and said "No."

Erm, ds is just managing 2 syllables atm... black-bird, ahhhh-round, etc.

I don't think I can say disestablishmentarianism

MintChocChippyMinton · 10/04/2007 19:17

3yo DD can say parasaurolophus without missing a beat (it's a dinosaur btw, but then you knew that)
