... they stopped wiping their filthy, sticky, grubby hands on their trousers?! Boys obviously. It drives me bonkers.

They will be 8 and 10 this year, and still do it. We have napkins at every mealtime, and they still do it.

I think Squonk is being a bit optimistic there, TBH!

singingmum · 02/04/2007 10:13

ds 12 still does it.Dp 29 still does occasionally, so does my dad almost 60 unsure it ever stops.Actually worse when older and gardening or working on cars etc.

chocolateface · 02/04/2007 10:38

I have no problem with my DS's wiping their hands on their trousers - it's when they leave hand marks on the walls I want to scream.

roisin · 02/04/2007 10:40

oh gee that's encouraging
Thanks a lot everybody!

JanH · 02/04/2007 10:49

DS2 will be 14 this month and still does it (and not only on his trousers, the furniture gets hammered too )

Mind you so do I

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 02/04/2007 11:11

My boys ( 8 and 7) still do it

Clary · 02/04/2007 11:15

my children wipe their hands on the sofa Roisin, which is worse, surely?

roisin · 02/04/2007 11:44

Oh yes, I think the sofa is worse. We don't eat in the living room though, so the sofa doesn't get too much of a hammering. The walls going up the stairs are filthy though.

DP is 37, the thighs of his trousers are splattered in glue/silicone/paint. I keep shredding old towels and sheets for him to use at work, but it seems i should be shredding his trousers for him to wipe his mucky fingers on.

custy · 02/04/2007 11:50

erm... mine are 18 & 14

i can offer you no solice

except this.

teac them how to use the washing machine.

Clary · 02/04/2007 13:50

Ah well we don't eat in the living room either except that my children eat everywhere (well, not allowed upstairs, but they would if they could).
