When does a play kitchen become useful?

Hello all! We live overseas and have a shipment booked to get bulky items from the UK sent out. Our DD will be 24 months when we leave to return to the UK and is currently 9mo (and not crawling/walking).

Would a play kitchen be a silly purchase? Would DD at 12-24 months get something out of it or better just to get one when we get back? Thanks!!

I got one for my 19 month old son a few months ago. He's not really interested in it yet (though to be fair, he's not interested in anything unless it has wheels...)
