Didn't know where to post this, didn't want to post in xmas because it's not strictly for that occasion.
Dd has a xmas birthday so will get all her gifts and 'big' toys then (I do buy little bits throughout the year) but want to make sure they're things that she will still enjoy throughout the year.
So just wondering what your dc play/played with most.
We are probably going to get a toy kitchen as she's shown an interest in role play.

Toy kitchen is a good one.
Doll house / furniture
Small world figures / animals / vehicles
Duplo
Crafty things like coloured paper, glitter etc
Scooter / balance bike
Her own little comfy chair

Anything role play is good - a toy vacuum? Doll & highchair - alongside the toy kitchen and playfood she can cook & feed the doll/'baby'. They have this set up at my son's playgroup and works well.

DD1 turned 3 in June. The things she played most with between 2 and 3 have been her play kitchen (used every day since she got it aged 18m), Wheelie Bug/Scuttle Bug/Cosy Coupé, Doctor's bag, books (always been a fave, but moving to longer ones with more story to them), doll with Moses basket/pushchair etc (this one has been brought on by DD2's arrival last summer), Ikea train set, and play dough. She'll often use these in conjunction with each other eg 'driving' doll on the Scuttle Bug to her doctor's surgery to be assessed. She loves arty crafty stuff too when I can be arsed to spend the following few days cleaning up glitter and get a window when DD2 is napping (rare). Oh, and she loves a sticker or two.
As she neared 3 she became really into My Little Pony so I got her a cheap job lot of those from eBay which she's still getting a lot of joy from. She also got much more into dressing up from 2.5yo-ish.

A good play kitchen is an excellent investment though IMO. Ours has been worth its money several times over already: DD1 shows no sign of losing interest in it and DD2 started using it as soon as she learned to pull herself up. We have the Ikea one with their pots and pans, and wooden food from John Lewis and The Great Little Trading Company (food was bought on sale as is really pricey normally. TGLTC often have one on). I plan on expanding the set up next year to a little shop or market stall.

Thanks everyone
We have already decided on the IKEA toy kitchen as it looks very sturdy and not bright and plastic as it will be in our living room
Have written some of your ideas down, managed to get some happy land bits off eBay.
Will pass some of these suggestions onto relatives though save them buying something crap that won't be used Wink

Duplo is a firm favourite with dd (just turned 2)and ds who is 3.8. She also likes books, glitter, stickers, toot toot cars and garage, toy till, baby and buggy, toy animals and dressing up stuff.

My 2 year old adores his garage and cars- DD also loved this at the same age and she still plays with it quite a bit at nearly 5...!
They have also both enjoyed toy babies and related baby stuff
Peppa pig small world stuff
Happy land

My 2yo loves her play kitchen, cuddly toys, her beatbo and if the weather is nice her sandpit and cosy coupe car
