15 month old behind other kids his age

My 15 month old isn't walking yet, not really attempting it, he is on the insides of his feet so has been given special shoes he needs to wear. But I also feel he is behind other kids his age with everything, I can't give him a plate to eat off have to give him one piece of food a time because he will throw it, he's not trying to talk or copy words I'm just worried he might not be developing as he should of wondering if I should be doing something different.

My 18 month old cannot be given a plate and be expected to eat much from it. He'd also rather chuck it, or crush it. So I too will hand him things little by little.

My colleagues son walked at 18 months, and is otherwise fine. My 18month old nephew doesn't say much but you can see his brain ticking away. I guess what I'm trying to say is babies develop differently, but it's probably best if a professional has a look at him too.

I wouldn't worry at this stage. He should be walking by 18 months and have 6 appropriate sounds (that means "moo" for a cow or "bmm" for a car counts) if not then speak to the GP.
The food thing is totally normal, if frustrating. Wink

At that age I could only give my son one piece of food at a time as he would get too excited and spit stuff out. At 2yr olds he now eats nicely with a plate (mostly 😂). He doesn't talk much at all but makes himself understood. He was an early walker but I have a friend whose little one wasn't walking until 18m. I know it's cliche but every child really does develop differently. I know it's difficult but it helps when you stop trying to compare :)
