2 month old avoids eye contact and doesn't respond to parents' voices

I'm a little concerned about my 9 week old daughter. She seems to actively avoid eye contact with people (to the point where she's almost literally bending over backwards to avoid looking directly at someone's face, including mine) and she has never turned her head in response to my voice. Her hearing is fine and I think her vision is too, as she'll look at toys dangling over her crib and react to bright lights. She seems to prefer staring at blank walls, ceilings or over my shoulder at "nothing". Sometimes I can get her attention for long enough to get a smile, although that's rare and takes some serious clowning around! Her "evasiveness" seems worse when she's obviously tired so I'm wondering if it could be over-stimulation? However all of the NHS guidance says by this age babies should love looking at faces and be turning towards familiar voices, and I can't say she's doing either of those things. Obviously I'm worried about Dr Google citing lack of eye contact as a possible early sign of autism... I'm probably worrying unnecessarily, but it would be great to hear some reassurance from anyone with similar experiences whose babies turned out fine! Thanks Smile

My son is a bit younger but similar, do you have an update?

Any updates on your babies?

I would absolutely not worry at all!!! My baby didn't smile until around 13 weeks and now doesn't stop smiling. She also didn't actively engage in eye contact at 2 months and now does all day long. It's easy to say but avoid googling and don't put too much weight on "milestones" as every baby is different!
