What time for bed??

I've always maintained the same bed time routine with my ds now 3.5, bed is between 7-730, every night.

But I've had two neighbours with boys of similar age, and I still hear they're boy up at 1030 and later, some nights I'm going to bed and I can still hear them play.

Am I too rigid with my routine? He wakes up anytime between 5-630?? Xx

My ds is 3.5 and bedtime is generally 7.30, however it can be a bit later if we're out or he doesn't seem too tired. My friends kids stay up later as they don't have to be up until 8 am so go to bed nearer 9-9.30

My dc are almost 5 and bedtime is 7pm during the week and 7:30 on the weekends. They need sleep or they're really miserable.

I do agree I think bedtime should be structured and early!!! God it's the only peace I get :)

My 18 month old ds goes to bed between 7- 7.30pm depending on how tired he is and sleeps until about 6.30 -7 am I think it depends on the child and how active they are

Both (2.5 and 7 months) go to bed between 7 and 7.30. They are up at 5 on weekdays so we keep the routine fairly rigid. They are both miserable without lots of sleep. Plus I need as much of my evening free as possible.

DS1 is almost 4, and DS2 is almost 2. Both go to bed at 7.30 and sleep until 7-8 in the morning. DS2 also gas a two hour nap after lunch. They'd be grumpy if I kept them up much later!

7 - 7.30 is the perfect time for a child of that age to go to bed. Sleep is so essential for restoring the body and building the brain. You're doing the right thing.

how active they are

Regular sleep, is much more relevant to mental, rather than physical load - there shouldn't be much correlation and it would suggest low fitness levels if the daily activity is forcing them to sleep through physical tiredness.
