Back Carriers

DD has outgrown her baby bjorn and we want to get a back carrier. We've looked at a few of the rucksac style ones which I'm not altogether sold on although DH is. I've seen an ergo which appeals to me. Does anyone have any suggestions of a good back carrier that could be used for a whole day. Walking in country and in cities?

Thanks

ergo.

we went on a 17 mile hike - totnes to dartmouth. dd was 16 months old and was in and out of the ergo.

d'ya want the pictures?

i have also walked for 2 hrs around the shopping center with her and she didn't whinge once and i find it incredibly easy to use and comfy even after 2 hrs. the only pain was the following day when i realised it gave my lazy thighs a workout.

hire an ergo here

Ergo great unless you are super slim(so I am told anyway . patapum better for the skinnies.

Definitely an Ergo. I am small - size 6 - 8 and have had no problems with it - I use it every day with DS (18 months) around the city and intend to use it on country walks asap!

Thanks. Mrs Apron I don't have to worry about being superslim I'm 5'10" sometimes height becomes a problem for me because things don't sit right. Just have to convince DH he likes the Bushbaby I don't Will look at site now Mrs Apron. Thanks everyone

i am slim and find that the waist band on the old style ergo is a little too generous for me. but i have found a way to compensate for it. it ain't stylish but it works. hence why i got me a didymos [heart emoticon] and decided the ergo is dh's sling.

Kisskdee. I think it will be my thighs too but your helping me convince DD. I don't really like using the buggy I'd rather carry DD

I second the Ergo fans on here - it's fab!

Way better than the ones with frames as it packs so small.

Loopybear-Was just wandering if you've tried the ergo yet and if you have managed to sell it to your DH?

I'm in the same position now-dd is just getting too big for the bjorn and I really want to get a good back carrier-i hate using the pushchair!

What do you do about bags (nappy, wallet etc) when using it?

We were only looking into the rucksack types as dh soesn't like sling types but the reviews look so good!

Phil and teds "ESCAPE" carrier is great.

My 16 month loves it. Lots of storage, sun shade/rain cover.

Littlelife is a good backpack style one and really light to carry. Has great storage pockets for nappies, drink etc and a detachable sunshade.
