Activities for 1 year old

Due to childcare costs, I am a SAHM to DD (1 yr) until DS (3.5yr)goes to school. She is a contented little thing, but I am worried she is not getting enough stimulation from me. We read books, bake together, build bricks and play outside. I also take her to rhyme time at the library.
Is this enough?

DS went to a private nursery from 9 months which obviously followed the Early Years curriculum, so he had a lot more input from professional carers.

Is the 1 year old on one nap yet? Moving to 1-nap days frees up your mornings to be put out and about

Now is the time to find playgroups and parent and toddler groups. Maybe consider swimming, go to the park, walk the dog. Language development is about to explode - so singing is great.

Parents are often much are better educators than pre school staff. Many (not all) pre school staff are poorly educated and have limited training. Group settings can be quite limiting.
Sounds like you do lovely things. You could think about a music session (no idea which ones there are at the moment), swimming or a toddler group where you go too. Often activities are more for parents benefits than child's - stir crazy mothers needing adult company.

Thank you. :-) She is stsrting to drop her morning nap, so I will take a closer look at music groups. And now she is walking, a swimming session will be a lot easier to navigate.
