hiya

my son keeps saying things like 'mum pulled my hair' 'mum hit me' 'dad pushed me over' ect

obviously we are not doing these things but its worrying me when he says these things.

Its come from him hitting his little brother,

he will push him, he goes on the naughty rug and we say 'you must not hit/punch/ push your little brother' ect

and when he gets upset he says that someone has done them to him.

an example was yesterday when he pushed a girl at the park - he told me she had pushed him, but i watch him very carefully when around other kids and she didnt touch him

anyways my friend was here yesterday and he threw a toy at his little brother and i picked him up to go on the naughty rug and he screamed 'owww you pulled my hair'

i obviously hadnt (!) and my friend beared witness to it all

later he repeated it to my mum - and she said 'she better not have done - ill kill her' but in all seriousness!!!

like i would pull my sons hair!!

i dont know how to stop him fibbing,

im worried hewill say something like this in front of the HV or something when having his jabs

or am i just worrying over nothing??

All children tell lies like this sometimes. A few years ago dd told dh that she was crying becuase I had kicked her in the back. Obviously I hadn't and dh wouldn't have believed that of me anyway but ironically I was upstairs at the time and nowhere near her

She also told me that a lady at preschool had smacked one of the other children. I was concerned about this and questioned her further and it turned out she was fibbing - she just didn't realise what trouble she could cause for the women concerned.

I've posted this before but DS1 told the woman at the supermarket checkout that DP and I know how to hit him without leaving any marks!

We don't BTW

That is hit him leaving marks or not!

Most kids go through a phase of telling fibs but I understand your concern at him saying something in front of your HV

pmsl, theyre monsters arent they?

it just shocked me that my mum would consider for a second he wasnt fibbing (its not like she believes him when he says theres a dinosaur on the roof!!)

so i just panicked that if he said it to a stranger they would think it was true iykwim

I had my son with me at work this week (4 yo) and he told everyone about mummy and daddy fighting . We had a disagreement not a punch-up. I had a red face and everyone laughed! Love 'em - grrr

my best friend was having breakfast with his girlfriend and her son one day when the son suddenly announced that he had seen him and and me kissing. A complete and utter fib which came out of no where.
