in this thread you mentioned your friends baby crawling at 3 months. was it like first half of the 3 months or the last half? cos my friends baby is almost 3 months and she looks like she is about to start crawling, but i'm not sure if its possible. have heard of babies crawling at about 3.5 months, but not before this.

bumping this for Chandra. (BTW, why are you never on MSN these days? )

Hi, just seen this, now to check the link

Chandra · 07/03/2007 01:21

I know she wasn't 4 but where in the third month she was I have no idea, she is 7 yrs old now so I have it a bit blurry.

The thing is, her mother followed to the letter a method her sister had used with great success with a baby who was born with paralysis.

She tells stories about waking up in the morning and panic about the baby whereabouts to find out baby had dragged herself under the bed (yep, the method asks for no cot but a big safe surface where the babies can move around). She has some amazing photos of her baby hanging up from her thumbs (she didn't loose the prensil reflex), etc.

She was properly crawling at 3m but, it was because they were very enthusiastic about giving her a good -and mobile- start

so she slept in a proper bed from birth? that's interesting cos ds keeps getting stuck in his cot and i wanted to move him to a toddler bed, but everyone keeps telling me it is too early.

No bed either, there was meant to be some sort of ramp around the bed, not to up but to drag herself around. They both were studying at the time so no much money for proper equipment so they just used the carpet which they kept immaculate. I'm sure she mentioned something about the surface having to have the right material in terms of friction but I don't remember what.

They followed this book , I think it is important to follow it from the beginning. I found some of the things in it a bit extreme but some made perfect sense and seeing the girl, I think they worked. But as DS had bad reflux and other things it was not really suitable for him.

Sorry, not friction but traction
