My DS2 is going to be 4 this month & he is still having tantrums & strops galore!
Hoping for a sudden transformation after his 4th birthday, but somehow don't think it's going to happen!
Tell me it might get better soon!!!

Nah, the Terrible Twos segue into Threenagerhood.

pinkchampagne · 06/03/2007 19:26

Oh no, I need reassurance it is all going to get soooo much better in just a couple of months!!
Today he has been a beast & had a 15 min strop because he expected the other children to clear the trampoline at baby gym, because he wanted it all to himself!!!

OK, I could understand if he was your first, but if he's your second then surely you know better

pinkchampagne · 06/03/2007 19:32

They are very different children to say the least!

LOl...es was a horror and then he reached 3 1/2 and was a different child...ms is 4 and 3m...am still waiting (lol.....saying that, he has become a bit easier, so there is hope)...ys only just started the TT's...however.....so who knows, eh!
But, there is hope!(Trying to reassure myself as much as you, lol)

moosh · 06/03/2007 19:55

Wait till they reach 7 no change !!!!

SherlockLGJ · 06/03/2007 19:59

They do become easier to reason with at about four and a half, or least my DS did. It gets even easier incrementally sometimes you don't even notice that it has become easier.

When Ds was in reception I used to quake in my boots if I forgot to bring a snack for after school. It got to the point where I used to ram my pockets on my Barbour coat with small packets of raisins.

He used to be inconsolable, it was the routine and a security he was carving after a day of doing what he was told.

This year, Y1 he will walk up to me and say do you have a snack Mummy, to which I sometimes have to reply I do but it is in the car. He generally gives a quick shrug and says oh thats ok.....

I know this is long winded but it is little things like that, that you fail to notice have improved. IYKWIM

My oldest ds is 23 and still terrible

pointydog · 06/03/2007 20:26

I pretty much agree with sherlock.

I found 3 much worse than 2, 4 better but still worse than 2. Come 5, it was getting smoother.

3 was a bugger.

pinkchampagne · 06/03/2007 22:09

moosh - I have a seven year old as well, so know all does not become calm then! Mind you, it is always my 7 year old who ends up in tears due to his younger brother!
