Hello
I'm in the midst of potty training my 1 yr old DS and need a portable potty solution for a boy.

I've got the "on the go" travel potty which sits on the floor but frankly there's never enough room for it in public loos and it's not robust. We'll keep it in the car for long journeys tho.

So, I'd prefer something which fits on top of a normal loo. DS will wee into a big toilet if I hold him there but it's not 100% successful and I think it's because he's uncomfortable with me holding him up.

I read some reviews of 'folding' potty seats like this one by Mommy's Helper which looks comfortable but reviewers say they break easily. This folding one by Graco apparently doesn't fit most loos well and it pinches bottoms where they fold up - OUCH!

I'm beginning to resign myself to the fact that I might have to hump around a big one-piece padded seat to stick atop a big loo like this cushie tushie one , but am concerned about finding space to pack it -- with DD coming along in 3 months, the buggy is going to be full up!!

However if the seat fits, stays, and is quick to set up, I guess it's worth the hassle? Please help me out here. Bogged down (sorry, terrible pun...)

I just used the tommy tippee potette.

Its a little blue seat with fold out legs, you buy liners for it which are just like a nappy sack, they have a liner inside to soak up the wee, then you tie and throw away.

Never had any problems using it, Dd even used it in the hight street a couple of times when we couldnt make it to a loo

Another vote for the Tommy Tippee one - very handy and very portable!

Yes Yes Yes TommyTippee A**
Though i must grumble at the price of the bags I refuse to pay (£2.75p) for 10 bags that have a pad just stuck it in.
I just either use shopping bags or the bags you put your veg / fruit in at the shops.
When im indoors i quickly put celotape over the holes and stick a cheap as you like (Eg 16p Tesco value pk of 10) pad on the bottom and there you go ......... 10 bags for 16p ( thats 170 DIY bags v's 10 bought bags )

Tommy T for me too couldn't have survived the last year without it. I do exactly what magicalmay does as regards make my own bags. Be careful when you have those searching through your bag moments though had several of those with sanitary towels flying everywhere, kids running off with them etc, etc.

TT was brilliant for me, still keep it in the car for emergencies! and i just stuck some paper towel in a nappy sack as refills too! so what if it didn't soak it all up?

i have this fold up one and have never had a problem with it toodle loo
