Shower with no plug in the start with. Even if she wets only a toe to start with. Lots of toys /maybe snacks in a pot on the side of the bath? Maybe you sit on the side and paddle feet too?

Hmm not sure what to suggest my son is
2.5 and used to hate it until I bought bath toys and got him swimming lessons as he liked water but hated baths like your daughter hope this helps

Could you wash her as she sits next to the bath playing with the water or put a bucket\bowl of water in the bath as she sits in the bath then wash her. Would she have a shower instead?

Kitchen sink?

I loved been sat on the draining bored having a kitchen bath when i was little.

Move to shower if you can and let her take it seriously at her pace - run it and let her put a finger in or toe, and build up to her going under. Trick is to be patient. No pressure and lots of praise if she manages under.

I haven't got a shower at the moment, we wer homeless not so long back and stayin with family, she did go in her shower she loves it, so don't understand y a bath distresses her so much? I'm goin to contacting a few people next week see if I can get a shower installed for her but in the mean time it's just strip washes but I hate doin that it's not enough

You can get those shower adaptions that attach to taps. Would that work?

PhoenixJasmine · 04/02/2017 21:06

You could get one of those shower attachments with rubber hose that you can just put over any tap?

SavoyCabbage · 04/02/2017 21:12

Something I did when mine were little was I had toys that they were only allowed in the bath. They weren't bath toys but plastic stuff like k-nex and Betty Spaghetti dolls.

G00s3 · 04/02/2017 21:13

I have one of those but she won't use it, it's too fast flowing for her, hopefully al be allowed to have a shower installed hate seein her so distressed every time

A strip wash is perfectly fine by the way.
Try not to stress about the bath she is at least getting clean 14 DS refuses to be in the same room as water i have given up

mainlywingingit · 05/02/2017 00:03

Can she wAtch a video of herself enjoying the toys in the bath before she gets in?

Wash a dolly together in the bath before hand ?

G00s3 · 05/02/2017 15:41

I'm absolutely chuffed, I finally after an hour of tryin to get her in got her to stand in the bath and use the shower head that are attached to my taps, water all over the bathroom floor mind but hell I don't care she was all giggles at the fact me and the bathroom are soaked thru one properly scrubbed child finally :) so happy xx

A great tip of OT suggested was to use a piece of music or favourite TV show. Explain that the event (bath, tooth brushing or hair brushing) will start when the music starts and finish when the music ends. Because there is a definite start and end, it gives the child some control and comfort that it's only short. Even with a 4min song it will be enough for a quick wash.
