WWYD?
Anytime anyone says, we are doing X and she wants Y she hides and cries. She doesn't even have to be told off for it.Its driving me mad this week.AFAIK she doesn't do it at school but she does do it with my parents and xh so its not just for my benefit.
ATM we just tend to ignore her and then she has to do what we say but I'm just really fed up with it.
She did it tonight over tea (chinese-her request) and she stomped off crying to her room and came back 1/2 hr later said sorry and ate tea.

She ould be being worse this week because she was ill at the w/e although she seems fine now.And she doesn't like beingoff school. She isn't tired (she is NEVER tired!). and I'm running out of ideas

maybe she is struggling with the strength of her own feelings over things that she knows are a bit silly? Have you spoken to her about it when she is calm?

nikkie · 22/02/2007 21:17

She just changes the subject.
dd-Sorry ,
me-what was that for?
dd- I did X
me why?
dd ooh look dr who toy etc

I would maybe say "Look we all find it difficult to compromise sometimes and it's okay to feel like that and it's ok to get upset and if you want to come and get a cuddle from mummy that's ok"

or something

Why does it annoy you so much?

nikkie · 22/02/2007 21:24

Its getting to be 5-6 times a day.Its getting me down tbh

Does she always have to do x even when she wants to do y?
I just aske because I was wondering if sometimes she could be able to do y. I know in some situations there can be no compromise and they just have to go along but does she ever get the chance for everyone to go along with her sometimes?

nikkie · 22/02/2007 21:40

SHe gets lots of choice.Todays were over putting shoes on at the swimming pool, leaving my Mams house, getting a yoghurt out of the fridge( I was cooking, said just wait a min) tidying up,and eating tea (her choice!
So not a lot to compromise on

It's a hard one isn't it? It seems to be an inverted tantrum doesn't it? Where my loud dd would be very vocal in those situations Your dd is being a little quieter about it.

nikkie · 22/02/2007 21:52

Strange 'cos she is usually the loud one!
