my dd is terrible if you tell her off for anything she will react ny biting her own hand until there are actual teeth marks in it

she will also throw things smack things or smack or bite the nearest person

my mum told her off the other day for biting ds and tapped her hand and she camerunning to me in tears to show me her hand and then bit it and showed it to me again with the teeth marks in it

ds was never like this she will bang her head against the wall and throw her self around
am sure it's just a faze and perfetly harmless and though it can be alarming sometimes it's just funny to see her with her lip stuck out smacking a chair

just wondering if anyone else's toddler diaplyed similar behaviour and what they do to address it

My DS (17 months) has bitten himself and left teeth marks. His preferred method of punishment is to bang his head on the floor so hard that he gets a lump and a bruise. Apparently this is normal toddler behaviour

He also throws things in a fit of rage, stamps, screams, hits me (lovely child really, honest).

I now ignore it all - when I reacted, he did it more and the temper lasted longer. Now I let him get his anger out and calm down a bit, then give him a huge hug - really squeeze him tight - and that seems to help. Obviously you can't hug until the rage has dissipated.

i know my sister tried and ended up with her hair being pulled in the twist and pull method that all toddlers seem to favour
