DD knows that:

I do not allow my china plates to be taken outside

No shoes upstairs

and

Under no circumstances WHATSOEVER does anyone for ANY REASON touch any of my craft stuff....

SO:

She and her friend have:

Taken china plates outside and loaded them up with mud and worms...

Then taken them upstairs to 'feed' DS1 WITH THEIR SHOES ON!!!

Mud is EVERYWHERE

AND

they have dug into my craft stuff.... used my posh card envelopes for drawing on and spilt my beads and card embellishments all over the floor [angry[

PAH!!!

Do you really think she's breaking the rules on purpose, though?
Or is she just hugely excited and has got a bit carried away?

HuwEdwards · 16/02/2007 12:39

poppies love, but they all push the boundaries when their friends come over (or try to), which is why you have to keep a regluar beady eye on the little buggers!

snowleopard · 16/02/2007 12:41

Oooh don't underestimate the power of a persuasive naughty friend. Yes she knows the rules and probably is fully aware of breaking them, but doesn't know how to say no - or wants to impress the friend - especially if she's generally quite a well-behaved and meek sort.

I remember occasions like this when I was a child - having a friend round and doing stuff I KNEW was wrong...

Talk to her after the friend is gone about how the rules still apply and she can come to you if she's feeling pressured by a friend. I'd also make her clean and tidy up with you, including all the nasty stuff like scrubbing mud out of the carpet.

poppiesinaline · 16/02/2007 12:44

OMG !! Now the friend has sprayed DD with the hosepipe and DD is soaked!!! - thats no harm done.. she can change! but phew!!!

never had this friend round before.... think if she comes again I will be keeping a very close on them!!

DD will not be impressed when I make her clean up the mud later I can tell you...

most of the stuff is 'ah, well, kids! pah'

BUT MY CRAFT STUFF!!! Where is Whizz and Dior ? They would understand..

I remember having a friend round when I was little and she taught me this game called 'gobdrop'
Which was basically all about lying on the top landing and spitting through the bannisters and seeing whose 'gob' was first to hit the hall carpet.
I knew it was wrong. I knew my mum would hit the roof. But I still did it.
Maternal fallout was massive. Didn't EVER do it again.

There you are, you see, perhaps there ARE worse things than digging into your craft box
Hope calm has now descended in your house

poppiesinaline · 16/02/2007 17:54

worse than messing with my craft stuff???

nope, nothings worse!

nope... calm has not descended yet.... still have a house full of kids ....
