My DS is 20mths old and for the last few weeks he is refusing all his milk. He has a little on his cereal and he eats cheese and yoghurts but will not drink milk. I have tried various cups and beakers but he's not having any of it. He's a big boy and eats really well, but nutritionally should he still be having drinks of milk. Any opinions or advice please?

If he is getting the milk through food then not drinking it is not a problem. With mine I used to make sure he had something with dairy in for each meal to stop me worrying.

There are also other ways to get calcium such as through green leafy veg (I think).

Its not that unusual a problem. For some it is temporary and they go back to it, for some it is permanent. But as long as they have the dairy or an alternative in their diet it is not a problem.

Have you tried making smoothies or yoghurt drinks with fruit in to disguise the taste of milk?

Milk shakes too

Yep tried the milkshakes, no go. He was never that enthusiastic about milk when he little so maybe he has just enough of it! I think I'll go with the suggestion of finding calcium elsewhere, thankfully he isn't fussy with food or veg! Thanks for the suggestions though.

I never give milk in a cup to dd1 3.4 yo. She eats yoghurt and cheese and plenty of vegs so it doesnt matter. She gets it on muesli but I give her a choice between cows and soya, usually chooses soya...I actually think cows milk is not that good for people but im a bit weird...
When she has a cold i stop all milk products as they are mucus-producing and make them more snotty...

As long as he's having plenty of calcium in his food, he'll be fine.

You could try giving him cheese sauces, milkshakes, green leafy veg, custard - there's lots of ways to get calcium into him.
