Baby waking to get into bed with us

Hi ladies my 7month dd has recently started waking a few times in the night, which never happened before as she slept straight through. We will comfort her and she will go back to sleep but will for sure wake up again. The only way she will sleep is if I bring her into bed with us. I let her when she was sick but now I think she's just used to it and I want to nip it in the bud! Any advice pls

Could she be cold? My Dd did this too. She was kicking her blanket off so we tried a sleeping bag which kept her warmer.

If you think it is just becoming a habit, which it sounds like it is, then the best thing to do is to break it quickly. Stop bringing her into your bed immediately and just put up with the night wakings for a while. Eventually she will get the message. Also how are you comforting when she wakes? It might be good to look for tips on how to reduce/change the comfort you give her until she'd is able to self settle again when she wakes.

Comforting her by just lying down with her in bed, sometimes cuddling her. I think she likes knowing someone is next to her. And I was thinking that about being cold as the weather is getting colder

Ok I've just realised this morning she's just cut her first tooth could this be the reason?

Yes definitely could be the reason! I would still say though that if you don't want her in your bed long term I wouldn't let that carry on. She will need comfort for the pain but the habit of sleeping with you could end up lasting beyond that.

As it does seem to be teeth some calpol for the pain might help her to sleep longer as well.
