Squealing -- gawd my ears

My 16 week old has discovered that she can squeal. And boy does she like the sound of her own voice (much like her Mama).

Lovely, glad she's articulating etc etc etc but how can I get her to shimmy along the vocab front cos my ears are wrecked!

I think once they discover it they love trying it out - esp. for the reaction.

All I can think of is hope she gets bored of it soon!

Earplugs.

It's the only way.

dd loved this, especailly in ikea when you get to the big cavernous warehouse bit..

Grit your teeth and keep those earplugs handy becuase it part of developing her vocal chords and association that she can make that 'fabulous' noise! My DS was the same and every mum I've spoken to said theirs had gone through the same thing. It's so loud too! I will never forget feeling my head/skull vibrate somedays with the pitch and volume. It will pass but not quickly I'm afraid!!

Thought so -- thanks! Loved it at first. Now it makes me wince and I worry that the neighbours will think I'm torturing her (wheras the screeching is torturing me!)
