Is it normal for older baby to finish feeds more quickly?

My DS is 3 months, breastfed only, used to take a good 25-30 mins, now sometimes seems full after 15 mins.I keep offering it for longer in case he's not getting enough...

is it usual that babies start to take less time to feed, or not? He still usually only has one breast per feed... I make sure there's still milk left and there always is..

any advice appreciated!

I think they get more efficient as they get older, thus getting what they need in less time.

i agree the baby can become more expert in feeding as he/she gets older, suck gets stronger, etc

I asked the same thing last week. My dd was feeding for the same length as your son then all of a sudden started only having 20mins on 1 and about 5-10 on the other. she is now 5 1/2 months and sometimes only has about 5mins. I noticed that at the beginning of the feed she would take really strong long sucks and gulps after each suck, this would last for the 1st 4-5mins then would want a burp and would then maybe have some more sometimes not. I found some info on another thread which said that if you watch the chin it will stay down for a few seconds when they suck & everytime they do it they are getting a full mouth of milk. If he was hungry he would let you know, as far as I am learning it's all normal!!

DD1 went from feeding for 30mins to about 5 almost in an instant. Babies and boobs are very clever and seem to work out what they need between themselves .

yes

Normal. It happened for us just over the three-month mark, and soon it seemed surreal that I had ever been sitting there for 45 mins every 2 hours...
