SALT Constant Deletion...WTF is this ?

SALT Report says DS 4yo "currently deletes sounds off beginning and ends of words affects his intelligibility"

More information would be helpful. I am assuming this is a common problem at this young age as the SALT didn't seem that concerned, when we spoke.

My 4 year old has recently started dropping his Ts, so water is now war-er. Is that what they mean?

Dropping the 't' in water is called a glottal stop, that's different.

Yes, missing bits of words at random but overall understandable.

Final consonant deletion is where the child doesnt pronounce the last sound in the word. So instead of 'drink' they say 'din' (although thats also simplifying a cluster 'dr' - 'd') its a normal feature of child speech. btw only in my first year of slt degree!!

So a common problem?
