advice needed on 3.5 month development - possible Cerebral Palsy

I am extremely worried about DS who is 3.5 months now. He still has his head leg and head bobbles when in a sitting position. He also does not bear much weight on his legs. The birth was uneventful but Google suggests this may be a sign of CP.

Any mothers of DC with CP - do you recognise any of these signs?

I spoke to the GP and she told me to wait for the 8 month HV check! That is far too long. If I ask for a referral now, would it be to a developmental paed or neurologist paed?

Do some baby massage on his hands gently opening his fingers and massage the palm of his hands. Or do 'This little piggy' rhyme with his fingers.

OP when my son was 2 months old I had EXACTLY the same fears about him. As a ftm I didn't realise the wife range of 'normal'. This was triggered by watching a YouTube video - ate you referring to the Pathways one with Marty and Owen? Thst video has its uses but also has a lot to answer for! I burst into tears after I watched it, asked the paediatrician and even got a private neuro- physio (my son has torticollis from birth so I was especially worried the ventouse damaged him more than that,). They all reassured me that there was nothing to be worried about and no issues (apart from mild reflux and torticollus which we already knew). I'm not at all worried now- I realise now that I was suffering with major poaf-natal anxiety regarding his health. He is developing just fine - in fact, less than a week later he was doing most of the 'typical' 2 month old stuff. And in response to your concern... MY son's head hobbled and he has head lag too! He is 13 weeks old so similar to yours. Odds are, neither of them have CP and we are both sufferers of post natal.anxiety. That's what you should Google, not your baby. The paediatrician said she Google is brilliant but also teeeivle for first time mum's in particular- and she's right! Please stop worrying and enjoy your baby. I really regret those list weeks when I was a anxious mess xx
