Tantrums

My 6 and a half month old ds is usually quite good - happy and playful. The last 3-4 days he has started throwing tantrums - screaming and shouting. Sometime when he doesn't want to eat anymore and sometimes just randomly. Could he be doing this as a way of expressing teething pain or is he just getting naughty?? How do I/we handle this?

i think he must just be expressing himself, but as for the reason it would be difficult to know. i suppose you'll just have to try different things by trial and error to see if you can find out what's bothering him. to be naughty he'd have to know a lot of things which a 6 month old couldn't know, imho. hope you find out the reason soon

My dd did this, i think it was just frustion that i didn't understand what she wanted.

It nearly all stopped once she figured out how to move to get what she wanted.

HI shish - whenever DS (now 2) was oh so close to being able to do the next new thing, rolling, dragging body along floor, sitting up, crawling, standing, walking, that's when we had a couple of days of uncharacteristic bad temper. Mission accomplished and back to normal. Happy girl again.
Also, could it be teeth or ears? We've twice blamed my MIL for altered behaviour - she says 'no' and then does yes, etc, etc... and then we have felt guilty when we've noticed a new tooth tip...

I've been wondering if it's teething - it's just so out of character. Especially as it's usually when he's playing or eating and always all of a sudden.. It's quite worrying really, cos I'm scared I'll end up with a little terror if I don't handle it the right way.
