Baby walker or Jumperoo?????? Advice needed please from parents who have either of these

Hi. My second child is now 4 months but has been able to hold her head up since week 4 and has a strong back. I have already got a door bouncer, but find it a pain trying to hold her and strap her in at the same time so was considering a baby walker or a jumperoo. I had a walker for my ds but we are now in a different house and not as much room, as well as being carpeted.

Wanting advice from parents who already have one or the other before I make a purchase.

Good points AND bad points please. I know walkers have been in the news recently about being dangerous for babies but ds was fine in his.

Thanks

how about an activity centre where they are supported in an upright position (like a walker or jumperoo) but can turn around and play with the toys on it! my ds used his for longer than his walker and they arent too expensive on ebay.

CJ - thanks for that. Can these be folded up when not in use?

I still wouldn't go for a trad baby walker as the orthopaedic docs I know are dead against them - not because they crash down the stairs etc but because apparently they're not very good for the way the leg muscles develop.

Hadn't seen the Jumperoo before but it looks enormous so if you're low on floor space it might not be ideal...

The one we have can be folded down on itself but it is still pretty big i am afraid but unlike a walker at least it stays in one place unless you move it (rather your dc!)

I gave a jumperoo at 5 months to my ds and at 16 months he still thinks that jumping like a fool in there is most fun.

The jumperoo does take up space, but it's really light and easy to move too. If you want to move it from one room to another.

Thanks for all your help. Have just bought a brand new Graco Entertainment centre from ebay for £30 (which is better than the £80 I was prepared to pay out for a Jumperoo!)
