Should I be allowing my 6 month old to do this?

Hiya,

dd3 will be 6 months old on the 13th January. She loves to stand, is really great at weight bearing and wants to do it loads. Also if you hold her under the arms she will actually walk (bit awkward like, but walking all the same). Is this good for her legs? she is tiny at 11 lbs 12oz.

It'll be fine and is v natural.
My DD was properly walking at 10 months ol,d but had taken her first steps at about 8 months old. she was cruising before that. she's now a year old and is running!

My DS is just over 6mths and exactly the same- let it be, if they're ready, they're ready!

if dd is already cruising and pulling herself up then you are doing her no harm by walking around with her. however if she can't pull up to standing by herself then you could potentially harm her.

Our daughter is 7 months next week, and she started on solids early (5 months) as she was so big and hungry, and ready for it. But we had to hold her on our knees, because she hated our (borrowed) Bumbo and slumped in a high chair. She was sitting unsupported by 6 months, and has always wanted to "stand" (she used to ease her own wind I think, when she was about 3 months old, by holding onto my clothes and sticking her bum out when she was on my lap) - we aren't trying to make her walk and havn't tried a bouncer or walker, as a baby I know was put into them and she took ages to place her feet flat on the floor and walked very late. I am waiting until she is ready to go on her own, although she loves being lifted to standing and then doesn't want to sit down. She looks soooo happy when she's up that I reckon she's going to be strutting her stuff soon.
