This is a bit of a sore subject with me - my DD has always been the last out of all her peers (about 20 from post/ante natal / NCT groups) to do any of the physical things (eg, rolling, sitting, crawling). Even though she seems to be talking/understanding well, I am always a bt worried that she is backward in some way - ok, actually I'm worried that I've done something wrong which has hindered her development.
Anyway, the point is that I took her to get "cruisers" because she is just starting to take steps unaided as well as around the furniture (she had been "crabbing" around the furniture for about one and a half mths) and I thought it would be a good idea to have something wth a waterproof sole to allow her to walk (obviously holding my hands)outside while on shopping trips with us to encourage her to want to walk unaided.
We went to Clarks and the girl measured and brought the appropriat shoes but when she walked in them it was very obvious that she was turning in on her ankles. I then walked her round without the shoes and realised the situation was almost as bad without shoes (I think I've been ignoring it - in denial).
Does anybody else have experience / advice with this? Just to be clear, I have always followed the Health Visitor's advice and my DD never wears shoes (or even socks) when playing inside or outside the house (eg at Tiddler's and Toddlers Group) so it's not anything I've put on her feet so far - I don't even use babygro's with feet in them.
Sorry to post such a long one but I'm very anxious about this........
