My 22 month old DD has always since 9 months of age gone to nursery on a Thursday and Friday . She stays with me on a Wednesday and is with grandparents on a Monday and Tuesday . We recently went away on holiday for a week and since our return she has gone into a tantrum on the way to nursery, shouting no nursery and sobbing uncontrollably , she then vomits on arrival at nursery. Apparently after 5 minutes of me leaving the nursery tells me she calms down and us fine although she goes now favour an earlier nap . I have been pregnant and gave birth last week , do you think this could have affected her behaviour or perhaps because I have been on maternity I have spent more time with her than usual ( grandparents have not had her. ) ? She always used to love nursery and I can't bear her being so upset every time she goes not to mention embarrassed by the daily vomiting all over the nursery corridors ! Any advice on how I tackle this or theories on why she has started this ?

Hello Vixta,
I read your post because my DS has always kicked up a massive fuss about going to nursery...
I'd say your DD has worked out that there's something quite special going on at home and she'd rather be there. The new arrival definitely will have an impact on her behaviour and will probably continue to do so for a while. I don't really have any brilliant advice other than keep on trucking! It will settle down and get better. Don't be embarrassed about her behaviour at nursery. They should be being understanding of the situation and as helpful as possible.
