Teaching the alphabet

My 2 year old (2 years 3 months) has become interested in letters and says ABCD when she wants the letters song on the iPad (and she sings along to most of it). But I'm not sure whether I should be teaching her the uppercase alphabet (what I think of as the 'grown-up alphabet') or the lowercase alphabet. She seems to prefer the uppercase alphabet (indeed, I didn't even realise liked the alphabet song until she came out with it), but I somehow feel the lowercase alphabet will be better for when she starts to learn to read. Or do I teach her both?

I think they learn both upper & lower case but they learn letter sounds before letter names.

When we went to a sort of "help your child get ready for reception" meeting, the teachers told us to use lower case letters (unless as the first letter in a name / sentence).

We were also told to use the letter sounds rather than the letter names, as the letter names can cause some children to get confused when they start learning to read.

Yes - lower case, and sounds is to be preferred.

I'll come back sometime with more information. Meanwhile, this is a good start:
