Wetting during school day - was previously dry

Hi everyone
Complete newbie to Mumsnet here, so please bear with me!
My DD started school this September (she'll be 5 in December). She has previously been very reliable with toileting - I could take her out for a whole day to a zoo etc and not worry about changes of clothes.

But this past week or so, she has been coming home from school in different trousers nearly every day, and even having the occassional accident at home. When she was at preschool, she would very occassionally have accidents, usually when she was playing outside and was just far too busy to bother with such trivial things as going to the loo!
I think this is possibly what's happening a bit at school. She said that she doesn't want to miss any of "outside play", and so doesn't go. But she also says she didn't realise she needed to wee, etc etc.

To add to it all, she's now not even telling me that she's had an accident - my clue comes from the dark patch on her trousers. I've asked her to promise to tell her teachers if she has an accident, but I'm not convinced she is! Her teachers are brilliant, and the school toilets look lovely and clean.

Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem, and see if there was any advice out there? Am i just being daft, or should I try a different technique?

Is it possible she gets bullied at the toilets?

If it really is just that she is forgetting then can a teacher just remind her at break time?

I could almost have written this myself and I wish I had some magic answer but it's something we haven't managed to crack yet.
DD1 is 5 and now in yr1 and this has gone on since early on in reception, with her it's mainly of the poo variety but she has started to wet herself too and as far as we can tell it's because she doesn't want to miss out and stop playing to go.
We only had 3 instances over the summer holidays and thought maybe the cycle had been broken but she was then dirty the first 3 days of the new term, then it all stopped until the middle of last week but since then she's started again plus the wee's.
It got better when she had a poo in the morning before going, but since last week she hasn't needed to go so it happens at school.

Like you the teachers are great and will remind her to go thoughout the day and say she does go to the toilets so they think all is ok but it still happens and she doesn't tell anyone.

We have tried punishments like taking toys away, not having any tv time and not being able to go to friends houses after school (which obviously can't happen if there is a chance she is dirty), reward systems for being clean/dry but nothing seems to work.

Sorry it's not the advice you were looking for but at least you know you are not on your own!

Have a chat with the school nurse and/or gp could be a sign of constipation. If the bowel gets enlarged it can push on the bladder and prevent it from emptying efficiently. Poo accidents can also be a sign of constipation.

Water infection? If not Buy a wobbly watch that vibrates every so often to remind her?
