Moved house and broke DD

We moved at the beginning of July. DD has just turned 3. She talks about her old friends and nursery and says she wants to go back.
She has settled into new nursery pretty well but will still say that she doesn't like it and that she feels poorly in the car on the way there. Nursery say she is happy when she is there.
She is lovely and happy around the house with me and DH and baby DS but her behaviour is AWFUL when I take her to toddler music or have anyone over to play- cries, clingy, shouts and pushes other children when they try to engage. Won't join in with anything....
I don't know how to handle it- I go from lots of cuddles and encouragement to trying to ignore it when she is whining and pulling at my clothes. I tell her off if she pushes etc but feel that I'm being inconsistent and don't know where to go from here.
Any thoughts? Flowers

We moved in December and then had a second child, my eldest is just getting back to her normal lovely self now. Just give it time, and I would err on the side of loving, gentle responses with firm rules about pushing. That way she knows things are still stable and you're in control, so she doesn't need to worry.
Flowers for you. I thought I'd broken my DD forever too.

It's only been a couple of months - give it time. As soon as she finds a new best friend all will be well.

We moved house without moving area/nursery and still had erratic behaviour for a few weeks.
Give it time, lots of children that age struggle with change. Keep things boring for a bit, if she just wants to hangout in the house let her, avoid soft play or play dates if they upset her. Let her dictate what shes comfortable with, within reason, obv she still needs to go to nursery.

I could have written your post OP. With the addition of a new sibling Grin. It is such a hard line to tread between appropriate discipline and cutting them a bit of slack in view of everything that has happened. I was saying to DH that she is the opposite of the teenager 'street angel, home devil' as, like your DD, she is lovely and placid at home, but really whiny and shouty out and about. We had to leave the zoo early yesterday as she was scared of everything! She often says she doesn't feel well, needs to go to the doctors, and talks about the family that we have moved away from Sad. She really misses her friends, but when I've organised playdates with other little girls, she gets overwhelmed, sometimes cries, and wants to go home. She has real difficulty sharing her toys too which I guess is a bit normal at her age, but awkward when I don't know the other mums that well. I have taken a step back from playdates for the moment, and she starts a new pre-school in two weeks, so I'm hoping she will make friends there naturally, rather than the pressure of having to 'perform' during hour long playdates or classes.

Glad to know others are experiencing similar as I've been finding it tough going Flowers
