Said to Dh, can you watch dd, whilst i pop upstairs to do the hoovering or would you like to hoover and i'll stay with DD?
He opted for staying with DD (thinking it was the easiest option obviously), but now she is crawling and into everything i meant it when i said watch her!
Anyway i came back down to find her happily tearing the wallpaper off of the lounge wall and daddy?........ watching a motorbike dvd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiger1, I find that most of the time DH and I do work as a partnership. But I think sometimes we both do things to wind each other up, things are worse at certain times of the month or if either of us is over-tired.
I do agree with the man ears though and he did anoy me yesterday by not actually watching dd when i asked him, hence the orginal post.
Tonight, I cooked tea, while he bathed dd and did her bedtime routine, thats what i call partnership.

So DR if I start talking to dh in a deep voice am I more likely to get the desired reaction

I love these threads, just because it's a relief to know I'm not alone.

If only I had a £ for everytime....

  • I was psychically expected to know where his keys/wallet/socks were because it's easier to ask someone else that look yourself.
  • I'm asked "Where is x" while dh is standing with the fridge door open looking directly at x
etc etc

Similarly to the OP,dh was watching (I use the term watching loosely)ds today. I came in to find ds (14months) using his toybox and the radiator to climb onto the windowsill and dh with his back to him engrossed in effing Championship Manager totally oblivious to ds's whereabouts

i must admit i have tried many different tactics many times. I spent 4 years writing lists he forgot to look at them even though i stuck them on his sterring wheel so he could not drive without noticing it. He just rips it off puts it on the passenger seat then forgets its there. Thats how bad it is. He also makes so many promises then lets me down. We have allergies in our house and i do buy in bulk but sometimes we run out. I tell him how important it is for him to get the things for say breakfast the next day, he then comes home with nothing. Then i have to go out immedeitly and do the shop again and basically he just did not look. As he is only home 12 hours per week so i only have 12 hours off of the kids 2&3. My time is precious. The list is endless. I just know more couple that get a whole lot more and when i tell them what goes on the man can not believe what my dp is like.
