My DS is 3 and all of a sudden hes started to stutter, he was a bit late in starting to talk, but we thought his speech has really developed well over the past 3/4 months, but now hes started to stutter.

Im just a bit worried as you why he might start all of sudden.

Around age 3 is very common esp in boys. My ds started to stutter. It got really bad, gradually worse and worse. I found it very upsetting, then after 6 months it just disappeared overnight. Just like that. Am trying to mentally prepare myself for the fact it may come back. Try not to worry, try not to pay any attention to the stutter, but if still a problem in 6 months then go to gp for referral to speech therapist. These problems often resolve themselves. I took no comfort from that myself, and started to feel thee was no hope, then poof! Gone overnight

It is common,I agree.
However,to be on the safe side, make an appointment with a speech and language therapist.Ask your HV to refer you.
Waiting lists are very long,so you might as well make arrangements now.
You can always cancel if things resolve themselves.
Early intervention can make all the difference, and the therapist will be able to distinguish between stammering and normal non fluency.

I am one myself.
(A therapist,not a stammerr!)
