Velcro baby. Is under the impression that he must have physical contact with me at ALL times, especially bedtime.

Tonight is the night to tackle it (CC does NOT work) - planning on doing a pick up put down type thing... would it be best ME doing it (with a lot of coffee...), or DH?

Thinking DH will find it easier because he isn't the one who is desperately needed at all times, but that we then might have problems when it is my turn???

Or should it be DH to break the cycle?

Flame - not sure if you are breast or bottle feeding, but if breast feeding get hubby to do the deed as the smell of milk may just make DS worse.

Good luck!

My dd has just turned 8 months and is crying to be picked up all the time. I have found that if i ignore her she stops and carries on playing with her toys. We co-sleep with her at night time as we can't bare to do cc. We tried the pupd but we ended up with even less sleep then normal. I'm hoping that sticking to a routine and time will the trick and she will eventually sleep through!
Good luck.

dd was doing this a few months ago and created so much snot she vomited. well that felt like a Bad Mummy Moment, as i had just been saying to dh 'no leave her, she will be fine, she's just crying b'cause she has seperation anxiety' all hoity toity. mins later accusing silence from dh as he stalks past carrying bedraggled vomit soaked baby...............

This is a funny discussion, but it does drive u crazy! dd of 7 months will only sleep for long banks(say 2 hrs!) if i bf her to sleep lying down. i end the 'bedtime routine' with a ff after which she only sleeps for 1/2hr or so in cot. i repeat ff-cot til my bedtime then when she wakes take her in bed with me for rest of night, where she sleeps better. am a bit worried about getting stuck co-sleeping, but really dont want to let her cry and cry, which she does if i just try to soothe her in cot.
