..but now DH thinks Ds doesnt need it. He still has problems with pronunciation but I am not 100% sure if his problems are common for his age. He was 3 in oct and when he was refered 6mths ago he could barely string a sentence together and when he did it was incomprehensible most of the time. He still is not at a level of his peers from what I can gather but he is also not as bad as he was. He manages to make himself understood at playgroup and at home he is more willing to try and talk. The only thing he does a lot is regress to grunting etc but I think that is more so due to DD being 11mths and does a lot of grunting. Will the Speech therapist just think I am wasting their time????????

IME it's pretty common for fathers to not want their child to have these kinds of appointments. My dh insisted that our ds1 was fine, even though ds1 was completely silent about 90% of the time.

I honestly don't think that the SALT will think you are wasting their time. If it turns out that your ds doesn't need help then they will probably be pleased to have been able to reassure you.

Good luck for tomorrow.

I did take him and am glad I did as he is still behind. She is posting out some games ot play with him re pronunciation and wants to see him again in 3mths. To be honest I think some of the pronunciation I had just gotten used to until she did the assessment and I could see what she was checking iykwim.

I'm a salt and can tell you categorically that we never think parents are wasting our time.
If all is fine-great.
If it isn't,then hopefully we can help.
