ADVICE PLEASE

Is it ok for my ds who is 2.5yrs to still have his bottle of milk in the morning.He has it at 6 when i get up for work as he is still in bed. Nurse says he should stop having it when i went for his assessment and have a cup with a straw

I would have no problem with it at all.
I presume that he can drink from cups with straws or lids or maybe even open cups in which case there is no need to get hung up on one bottle. I would ignore her and carry on with it if it's what makes you and your ds happy

If he has it in bed then I would agree with trinityrhino. You don't want it spilt and have to change the bed before you start the day, just an extra complication you don't need.

my 2yo still has a bottle in the morning and before bed and the HV said it was fine as long as every other drink is from anything but a bottle so dont fret about it

my dd who is 2 also has a bottle in bed at night she doesnt have a dummy never has done I think its her version of a dummy she is happy and so am I, when she is ready she will stop having it is my attitude.

she drinks fine from a cup and using a straw

Same here- did have a terrible week where we tried to "wean" DD2 ( just turned 2 ) from her morning and bedtime milk bottles- all it did was bugger up her bedtime calm routine and get her screaming the place down morning and night- she absolutely refused to have her milk from anything other than her bottle. She never drinks any other fluid from it- just milk- and she has a temperature gauge built into her fingers I think- I get " too hot! Too cold" all the time.. have to get it exactly right. It's a comfort thing really, and I have decided that bugger it, I can't be bothered with the fight at the moment.. who cares if she has bottles at home?

I'm obviously a total rule breaker dd2 only stopped having a bottle am and pm when ds arrived in august. That was the time limit we decided to set. She was 4 !! I just didn't tell the HVs. It never put her off eating well and she got a lot of comfort from it. She didn't cotton on that we didn't really need the bottles for ds as he was breast fed.
