Am waiting for our local speech therapist appointment next month, but want to see if anyone else has been in the same situation as me and has come through it (and if they can offer any advice).
DS2 has very few words, max 5. Mama, gator (thomas train character), nana, juice.. william.. I've tried sitting with him and going through first word books, but he's starting to tantrum now, when i bring them out.. i go through words with him when playing, cooking food, so bread, cheese, tea.. etc, car . Almost all the time, either 1 or 2 word phrases.. yet he's still reluctant to say anything and when asked, almost refuses to. Won't say juice/milk when prompted to if he's thirsty...
Can anyone offer any advice, and have they come through this unscathed. Should say that i don't feel any other area of his development is slow, he seems lively, interactive, plays well at playgroup and tantrums only probably a normal amount for a 30 month old...
TIA
