Just changed to goats milk and slight reaction - will it pass??

Hello all, just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and seen improvements over time. My almost 1 year old has been on Nutramigen AA since she was 3.5months old owing to a suspected milk intolerance. She's never been as big a drinker as her twin sister (who is on goats milk formula without problem) but was fine on the Nutramigen. Approaching their first birthday I decided I'd try mixing Nutramigen with goats milk to see how she went. We started this on Thursday. She loved the milk and guzzled it up finishing every bottle. Since then though we have noticed a very faint rash appear first on her back and then it would subside and today I've noticed it on her front - very very faint. She is now producing more poop and it's quite loose and although I try to change her as quickly as possible, it is starting to cause a bad nappy rash. I try to leave her nappy free as much as possible, and her sister is also suffering the same - without any change to her milk. I guess in my mind I see the direct link to her change in milk, but she seems very happy and has a good appetite, I just don't know whether to cut out the goats milk - or if anyone else had a similar reaction but persisted and it all came good in a couple of weeks or so. I don't want to go chopping and changing but I also don't want to be creating a problem if she is indeed still very intolerant. I am speaking with the pediatrician but was interested in first hand experience as well. Thank you!!

If she has cows milk protein allergy, it's advised not to give goats milk as the protein is similar.

Thank you Jilted, it is a suspected intolerance not a tested allergy and she is almost 1 which is when most have outgrown it. My understanding is that goats milk is easier to digest than cows milk, so I thought it would be a good option for my slightly sensitive twin.

I'm slightly older than one and I've still got it, not all outgrow their allergy Smile

Do you think it might be useful to ask for allergies tests as your DT seems to be reacting? Your GP should have NICE guidelines on allergy testing and should really refer you to a Paed and a Paed Dietician.
