I have an appointment with HV tomorrow to rule out anything medical and baby doesn't seem ill...

Since Saturday I would say 80%+ of her awake time has been spent screaming. She is feeding fine but only on her terms. If I offer boob when she doesn't want it cue more screaming. Whereas prior to a few days ago she was happy to have boob any time (so I don't think it's wind / colic / allergy???)

I have the Wonder Weeks book and she is at the right age for the second leap and showing all the signs? She is almost impossible to soothe at the moment. It's relentless and I'm completely done in with it all.

I have a toddler but he was a very easy, calm and chilled out baby. I never had this with him.

Any words of wisdom? Advice? Reassurance?

Also meant to say no temperature, feeding ok, having dirty and wet nappies and is sleeping as 'usual'

No words of wisdom other than it will pass. My first was like this and was textbook wonder weeks, fortunately second is so laid back it's unreal.

Look up the PURPLE crying theory online-can't remember who researched it but found it quite insightful myself! Hope that helps!x

Is she getting enough sleep? I remember with my second I completely forgot a) just how needy babies are at that age and b) just how much sleep they needed. Dd would have screaming fits and I'd have to take her for a walk in a sling with my toddler in tow to calm her down.

Cows milk protein intolerance is also known as delayed milk allergy, it typically presents at 6-8 weeks. Babies do tend to cry if they are overtired, but not for that long, the real incessant inconsolable crying ime tends to be caused by real pain.

It does sound similar (as far as crying descriptions can) to my lo and she had cows milk protein allergy. Hers set in immediately and was diagnosed at one week but as a previous poster has said, it's often diagnosed a bit later on. Endless crying could also be painful wind and then they are relieved by feeding, then feel the pain yet again. Vicious cycle for everyone involved Hmm
