Bit of a strange question...

Our DD is 13 months old but when she decided she wanted to crawl she started 'humping' for lack of a better term. I thought it was just a practising thing and ignored it but it's never really gone away. Sometimes there seems to be a lull (or maybe we just stop seeing it) but the last couple of weeks or so she seems to do it constantly Confused We pick her up she humps our side, move her to the front same thing, playing on the floor she crawls onto us and if she stays there she humps whatever bit of anatomy she happens to be sat on (yesterday it was my face!) And now she's doing it before she goes to bed too, it's a bit distracting IYSWIM and it's making DP a bit uncomfortable.

Is this normal? Could it be a physical issue? Shifting wind or something? Plus she's a girl, I could understand with a boy but I've never thought about a girl doing it. Any advice or other experiences would be nice please!

My step sister used to do this when she was young. It lasted a while but she grew out of it! My step mum had health visitors and everyone involved! She used to do it with the trolley going around the supermarket! So just give it time she'll stop eventually!

It's very normal. She'll grow out of it. I guess you just have to try to distract her.

My Dd did this from when she was v small, pretty common though no one really talks about it.
She grew out of it, I would try & distract her from doing it in public.

Seemed to be self soothing thing & she would do it before falling asleep.

My niece did it too, it was disconcerting. We used to try and distract her when she was doing it. It was a phase that she outgrew.
