Will my 10wk old sitting up stop her learning to roll over?

Hi all, I'm new to this so apologies if I get it wrong but am impressed with all the never ending knowledge on here so wonder if any of you have any thoughts on the following....
My 10wk old dd loves to be sat upright, if we lay her down she'll winge until we sit her upright, she likes to be propped up on the sofa or sat on my lap. When I'm doing stuff in the day I have to put her in her bouncy chair in the same room as me as she hates being left in another room or even just laid down in the same room as I'm in. Thing is I was reading another thread on here the other day and it's got me wondering, as she is always sat up will this stop her learning to roll?
When she is on her playmat (which she has just starting to like to lay on for a short while and wack the animals above) or on her changing mat with her nappy off (which she loves!) she sort of swings her legs from side to side which I guess is the first step but doesn't attempt to go any further.
Am I just worrying over nothing, is it to early to worry? I'm sure my friends baby was rolling by about 4 months which doesn't seem very far away. Should I try and stop her sitting up so much, it doesn't seem fair as she likes it so much. She also seems to have nearly worked out how to sit upright on her own with a little bit of support to stop her falling forward, which seems a bit back to front as she can't roll! I don't know, she is my first and I never did the baby book/manual thing so any thoughts would be appriciated.

Hi MonkeyBabyMum, I am a first time mum too so not an expert but my DS also preferred to be upright (in fact still does - he's nearly 6 months now). He rolled quite late (about 4 1/2 months) and still only does it infrequently. However this seemed quite normal judgign by the rest of my NCT group - out of the 8 babies only 2 or 3 were regularly rolling by 4 months. My feeling was (and is) that I'm not trying to train an olympic gymnast here, just raise a happy baby ! So as long as he seems to be developing normally in other areas I'm not worried.

Incidentally, I was told they usually roll front to back first (around 3-4 months) and don't roll back to front until later. If your DD doesn't spend much time on her front obviously she's less likely to do this early.

Will now bow out and leave you to the experts!

no
but your baby should be having tummy time as well as sitting 'upright'
this strengthens lots of muscles for crawling and sitting up unaided when they are older

Hi monkeybabymum, please don't worry. It's easy to compare your baby with those of your friends, I certainly did that with my first and worried endlessly when things weren't "text book".
You know none of my 5 children have ever been great rollers. Infact some never did.
They all loved sitting up and I think you should keep on following your baby's lead. She is happy being propped up, leave it that way.
Please try not to get anxious. You sound like you are doing a great job. It will make no difference to her development if she doesn't get rolling practise

Thanks everyone, this place is great, it's so nice to get some reassurance especially as I don't have many friends with babies apart from my closest friend. Oh and blimey kitty if you have raised 5 children and it's not done them any harm I'm sure my dd will be fine...If shes happy sitting up sitting up she can stay!

My dd hated lying down too, I think with an older brother she felt as if she was missing out on things!! She sat unaided before she could roll over but it hasn't done her any harm. She can roll now (14 mths) but I have no idea when she first started to do it!!!

babymonkeymum. Also all mine were walking unaided by 10 months, so not rolling certainly hasn't affected their physical development
