could it be teething?

My dd 15 weeks has for the last couple of days suddenly got very upset around early afternoon. She had just slept and ate and the usual could not console her. She is dribbling lots , so thought it may be teething. Is it too early for teething? Cant see any teeth coming through yet. On one occasion I gave her calpol and she cheered up within half an hour. Dont like to give calpol too much, but it does seem to help.

My dd started to teeth at 3 months, I used chamomilla, homeopathic remedy crushed and in her milk instead of calpol. Sometimes tho they just seem to get upset at the same time everyday for no obvious reason, it's really tough not knowing why they cry.

my goodness do you have my daughter? dd also has this patter. Is 17 weeks. Calpol helps but have been told by HV not allowed to use too often so have bought teething gel which works for like 5 mins then she starts grizzling again. She's normally so happy and contented it's driving me nuts! The thing is I can't see any teeth buds so am worried I have this fpr the forseeable future.Where is my happy daughter! Grr!Def not too early for teething btw. My mum says I had my first tooth at 3 months! Tho they do "move about" before they come through.

My DS is nearly 14 weeks old and I am wondering if he is teething - he is dribbling like mad and eating his hands constantly (although he has been doing both of those for weeks now) - but over the last couple of days, his skin on his cheeks has gone very dry and red - is that the teething rash that all the books talk about??

Dennya - def not too early for teething from what everyone else has told me but I believe once the tooth has broken through babies are fine again.

I think we do have the same daughter alibobble!!! I cant see any tooth buds either, so was just worried that I was making her miserable. Will get calgel and give it a go. I'll look into this chamomilla as well rebelmum. Reassuring to know that 15 weeks is not too early for teething.

In the case of my DD (who is now 10 months old), she suffered around that time and then it passed for a few months till she suffered again when the teeth went through the gums themselves. From talks with others, it is the pain of the teeth moving through the gums. I wouldn't worry about Calpol - as long as you are giving it as per the instructions, it'll be fine. That's what the doctor told me anyway!

Deffo not too early for teething.

I live abroad and before I even had my own kids my inlaws used to ask me to bring Calgel home with me whenever I was in the UK. I have since had 2 DS's and have to say that Calgel works every time!

Red cheeks normal sign.

Dribbling normal sign.

Wingeing in the afternoon at regular - normal sign.

It took some of DS2's teeth months to break through!

Stick with it - it will be over before you know it.

just bought herbal rememdy from boots containing camomilla or something as the lady in front of me in the queue was buying it and raving about it. DD was screaming at the time so bought some and poped it in in the middle of the shop (after buying it of course) and she stopped pretty much straight away. Gave her her teether to chew on and she's been fine since (about 1 hour) whereas she was horrendous this am. ONly downside is that dd was suspected lactose intolerant and they contain lactose - ooops. TIme to find out if that's still an issue!

I bought some ashtons and parsons, which someone said was good. Have not tried it yet, but will let you know how it goes. I think I will invest in some camomilla at the wkd. I have invested in a good teething ring as well. DD seems to like it.

I have invested in a good teething ring toy and some clean adult knuckles seem to do the trick as well!!!
