Doesn't sound majorly concerning to me. My DD didn't bear any weight on her legs at all until after her first birthday, for example.

What you're describing isn't on par with a six month old in my opinion. My DD could just about roll at six months, nothing else. Sitting and crawling came much later.

Is your DD due a one year check with the health visitor, at all? That would be the perfect time to flag any concerns.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about to me. My baby's been late with all her milestones but I was never worried and I'm still not. She didn't sit til days before 10 months then started bum shuffling. Mine is 12 months old she's only for herself to a sitting position twice so far and that wasn't til she was 12 months. Mine isn't pulling herself up or anything yet. I know my baby's been later than a lot of babies however I also know she's still in the normal range and she's developing normally. Is this the only reason you think there's something wrong with her or is there something else?

Well my eldest didn't crawl or bum shuffle. She didn't really roll either.
However she was walking at 14 months and never looked back.
But you are her mum and have some of experience of babies so it worth having another opinion.
No harm in getting her looked at.

Ok, I'm going to be very honest here, but in no way read what I say as fact, as there is no way I can diagnose your daughter from a post on the Internet.

Yes, children def reach milestones at different ages, but what is ringing a few bells for me is that she is throwing herself back after sitting for a while, and can't get into that position unless you put her there.

That doesn't mean she necessarily has anything wrong, but that would be something I would be flagging up. This was my child, she had exactly those issues going on... and she is now diagnosed....but only after years of drs stating she was developmentally delayed. Yes, I would certainly be investigating...and getting a second opinion....BUT it could well be she is within the bounds of normal. So please don't think the worst...because chances are higher that it's nothing, I'm sure xxx

It might be worth asking your gp or health visitor to refer her to physiotherapy to be checked.
Do you have a paediatrician as she was born prem. if you do can you ring his secretary and ask for an appt.
if there is an issue, which I cannot tell if there is , the earlier it's detected the better.
You can also ask your health visitor to perform a SOGs test which will show where she is developmentally. This test can be done at any age not at set ages. She should have one at a year old but you can ask for it to be done earlier.

Any baby born 37 weeks or later is considered full term now

Hi. I'm not a regular poster, more of a lurker tbh. My DD who is now 2.5 sounds exactly like your DD now when she was the same age. She didn't start pulling herself up until she was 13 months, and didn't start walking 'til she was gone 18 months. I was so worried, HV weren't concerned at all. I did a lot of trawling through MN search results from previous posters who had the same issues, worrying, searching more. But there really was nothing to worry about, she was just doing things in her own time. Just wanted to offer a bit of reassurance. HTH x

I think the OP should go with her gut feeling. 37 weeks is considered full term, but were there any complications with the birth or afterwards. Babies are only referred to a paediatrian if there is a concern. There are babies which are supposely 36 weeks who are a 100% healthy and appears that mum has got her dates mixed up. Ds was born at 37 weeks and he had a paediatrian because he had unexplained jitteriness and jaudanice during the first few days of life.

Ds had problems learning to walk and was referred to the child development centre at 23 months. We never found a clear cause, but ds had 18 months of physio to help him walk.

Sometimes a mother's gut feeling is right. I feel that if you have concerns you should ask for a referral.
