13-year-old refuses to come on planned trip to the Lake District

My son has arranged a 3-day trip for his 3 children - 13, 11 and 9 - and myself to spend 3 days in the Lakes in a camper van this weekend.

However, the oldest, a girl, absolutely refuses to go - and the mother (separated from my son and they're divorcing) has other plans for the weekend.

Any tips, guys?

Thanks again, folks - all valid issues and I'm sure this is a bit of a learning curve for my son (and me!).

As luck would have it, my son has just come down with a bug which has kept him in bed for the past 24 hours - with a basin by his side and the door open into the bathroom!

Poor lad, he really isn't well - so the whole thing has had to be cancelled and you can all relax.

Thanks again for all your concerns, and, as I've said, the next planned weekend away will involve everyone from the start.
